Back Bay Automation helps manufacturers and distributors put product knowledge at everyone’s fingertips with Alessia.
Back Bay Automation was born at Cornell, in the Cornell Gen AI Club, where students were eager to apply generative AI to real problems in the industrial automation industry.
What started as student-led projects on campus grew into a company that has since worked with many manufacturers and distributors to transform and digitize how their teams access product knowledge. We build Alessia, an assistant trained on your catalogs, IOMs, cut sheets, and application notes so sales, service, and engineering get accurate answers in seconds.
Today we combine product engineering, machine learning, and hands-on experience from industrial deployments, because we’ve seen the cost of knowledge trapped in PDFs and senior specialists’ heads, and we know how to put that knowledge to work.
Founded at Cornell Gen AI Club
Technical companies win on product depth, but that depth is useless if only a few people can access it. RFQs stall, field techs wait on callbacks, and new hires take months to ramp.
We started Back Bay Automation because AI finally makes it possible to query your own library the way you’d ask a seasoned colleague, without compromising security or handing your IP to the open web.
Our goal is simple: help you sell more, service more, and save more by making your documentation work as hard as your team does.
Isolated per customer and never used to train public models.
We configure Alessia alongside your product and domain experts.
From your docs to a live team assistant in weeks, not years.
